CHOOSING A SCHOOL
June will mark the opening of School year 2009-2010. Before we enroll our kids, we should make sure we enroll them in a trusted learning environment. However, many parents have their specific reasons as to why they enroll their kids in their specific choice. But for me, one of the criteria should be the teaching staff. Does the school have good teachers? How will you know this? Well, look at the trend of graduates. Are the graduates in the school successful in their own fields? Hmm.. Kinda unfair but true. At least to me. See, if the students in a certain school end up with mediocre lives, believe it or not, the teachers and the school have something to do with that also. Apart from the home environment and the student's peers.
What am I saying? Teachers play a good role in the development of the child. Although it's true that learning and education is a partnership between the home and the school, still, teachers are more influential than the other significant persons in a child's life.. I don't know why that is so... But that's just how I have seen it... I may be wrong.. As for me, I am still scouting and looking around CDO as to the right school for my baby brother and Lili... But I think my mom is sending River to XU.. I am not sure though...
Below is my criteria:
a.) Affordability without sacrificing Quality... (SOP)
b.) Accessibility: One ride only if it's possible..(SOP)
**** c.) Should have THE BEST Teachers (No favoritism please) and Good Learning Facilities
d.) Should be an environment that fosters growth for the kids...
e.) I would like it to be a SAFE and SECURE Environment...
My HS Alma Mater is offering 20% discount on tuition for my Lili since I am an alumnae there.. I still prefer XU, another Alma Mater (college).. since the name really stands out, but Lifetime Study Center also has a good reputation.. I also consider Oro Christian Grace School, since Mika, my student this Summer, is a walking example of what kids are taught there. Seriously, choosing a school is a great deal for me these days. It keeps my mind busy.. Busy thinking... I want Zarelle to have the best foundation. She is a smart kid. She deserves to be at the right learning environment to become the person she wants to be.
Well, what about you? What do you think about these matters?
