4 WAYS TO COMBAT INFLUENZA AH1N1

Updated July 22, 2009----

Today, Lifetime Study center issued an announcement that classes will be suspended starting tomorrow and will resume August 3, 2009 in view of the threat of infection from Influenza A or H1N1. Lourdes College and Xavier University have already suspended classes due to the fact that some students and teachers were found to be positive with AH1N1. Other schools also found to be positive are Corpus Christi School, Pilgrim Christian College and some public schools.

Here are 4 ways to combat the said pandemic...

  1. KEEP YOUR HAND CLEAN
  2. BUILD BODY'S RESISTANCE
  3. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS
  4. KEEP AWAY FROM SICK PEOPLE
In keeping the hands clean, of course, proper hand washing is required. Nursing students have mastered this, lol... Use a good germicidal soap and clean water. If hand washing is impossible, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers...

In building the body's resistance, it is as easy as eating the proper (nutritious) meals a day, sleeping at least 8 hours daily, avoid stress, drink plenty of fluids (water and juices). In other words, practicing good health habits....

Being mindful of others is as easy as acknowledging that you may be able to infect other people when you get sick thus, self quarantine is a good way of showing that you care about others not to be infected by YOU... Or at least, cover your mouth to avoid mucous spillage and spits...

Lastly, it is but understood that since AH1N1 has already become a pandemic, we should avoid sick people to keep from being infected also...
